昨天有两个知识点需要解释一下：

1）joining the dots 确实是一个短语

    “意思是将本来不相关的人和事联系起来进而了解事情的真相。”

     在这里指的是让既得利益者感到害怕的是劳动人民明白了事情的真相，（觉醒了）（进而团结起来）他们知道不能只为了自己的不公而抗争，对于别人的不公只是袖手旁观， 大家应该联合起来。

2） disproportionately 不符合比例的；

（我就问你一句什么叫不符合比例的？）

比如：

Health spending tends to rise disproportionately in some poor countries.

在一些穷国，医疗费用通常不成比例的上涨。

（这句话汉语是什么意思？）

这个时候往往需要结合上下文找出到底是和什么相比不成比例，上涨的过多还是过少。

不成比例准确的意思：和某件事情比不符合比例。

1）过多

2）过少

His face is disproportionately big.

他的脸（和他的身子比起来）不成比例的大。

他的脸（和他的年纪比起来）不成比例的大。

他的脸（和他的同龄人比起来）不成比例的大。

The plan would disproportionately benefit the wealthy and squeeze the poor.

这个计划过分的有利于那些富人而压榨了穷人。

所以这个词在翻译的时候一定要结合语境翻译。而不要直接翻译为“不成比例的”这样会让人听不懂你在说什么。
