说经台是楼观台现存最大的一组古建筑，现已成为楼观台的中心。整个建筑群建在海拔560米左右的峰顶上，这里竹林茂密，古树成阴。

进入山门，一个八角形水池映入眼帘。该水池名叫“上善池”，取“上善若水”之意。老子曾说：“天下莫柔弱于水，而攻坚强者莫之能胜。”意思是说，水是天下最柔弱的，但它可以冲决一切坚硬的东西，体现了道家“柔弱胜刚强”的思想。山门两侧是说经台的碑厅，保存历代碑刻70余件。

The Shuojing Platform is the largest structure at the Louguan Temple.As the center of the Louguan Temple，it is situated on a peak at an altitude of 560 meters.Bamboo groves spread like a blanket over the peak，and old trees give deep shade.

Upon your entrance to the mountain，you will see a pond in the shape of an octagon.It is called the Shangshan Pond.The connotation of this name is the“highest efficacy is like water”.Laozi once said：“Water is the weakest of all under heaven，but attacks the strongest beyond compare.”Bluntly speaking，the weakest of all the elements，water is powerful enough to destroy whatever is solid.The quotation expresses the Taoist notion：“The weak can defeat the strong.”The halls flanking the entrance to the Shuojing Platform house more than 70 carved stone tablets that have survived the ages.
