The Jintai Temple

Now we are at the Jintai Temple. It has a long history.

The Jintai Temple is a Taoist temple, the most important of three Taoist temples(the Jintai Temple, the Yintai Temple and the Yutai Temple). It is located on the northern slope of the Lingyuan upland in the City of Baoji.Perched high in the air,one can have a bird's eye view of the whole city.Built in the early days of the Yuan Dynasty, the temple used to be a cultivation site of Zhang Sanfeng,a famous Taoist in China. The rear part of the temple was caved along the upland and in the cave there's a statue of Zhang.Standing in the front of the temple is the Yuhuang Pavilion with vermilion pillars and carved balustrades covered with glazed tiles. When bathed in the morning sunshine or the afterglow at dusk,it glistens splendidly.Hence it is known as the Gold Pavilion Giving Forth Red Glows.

We will finish our trip in the west of Xi'an here.We will continue our southern trip this afternoon. We will only go to visit one scenic spot today—the Xiangji Temple.
