兵马俑坑里最矮的陶俑为1.78米，最高的为1.97米；最轻的陶俑不到110公斤，而最重的则达300公斤。秦代工匠根据每件陶俑不同的形体和性格等进行细部刻画；接着还要制作各式各样的胡须和发髻。经过秦代工匠精雕细刻，陶俑一个个栩栩如生、容貌不同、神态各异。据推测，每件陶俑都是秦代工匠按照秦兵雄姿如实塑造的。

陶俑制好后入窑烧制，出窑后还要精心彩绘。由于经过焚烧和自然的破坏，今天人们已看不到陶俑当年色彩绚丽的原貌，但是绝大部分陶俑和陶马身上仍有颜色的残迹，个别陶俑身上的色彩甚至完好如新。

庞大的秦始皇兵马俑，就其雕塑艺术、古代军阵形式和规模及葬礼制度而论，均堪称为世宇之丰碑。秦始皇兵马俑，不但再现了秦文化的光辉，而且也展现了伟大的中华民族先辈们的文明和卓越智慧。

After the terracotta warriors were made，they were put into kilns to be baked.The clay figure were carefully painted with colors after they were baked.As the figures have been burnt and gone through a natural process of decay，we can't see their original gorgeous co－lors.However，most of the figures bear the traces of the original colors，and a few of them are still as bright as new.

The large－scaled Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses，with their artistic skill in sculpture，the size and form of an army－array in ancient times and the burying rites，are an outstanding landmark in world history.The Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses have not only reproduced the glorious cultural achievements of the Qin Dynasty but also show the ancient civilization and outstanding intelligence of the Chinese people in ancient times.
