The Jin Jiang Hotel is a famous five-star garden hotel with a history of more than 80 years. It is located on South Maoming Road, a busy road in the downtown area of Shanghai. The hotel occupies an area of more than 30000 square meters with 16500 square meters of beautiful gardens. It is the first state guest hotel of New China and has been once reserved for the exclusive use of world dignitaries. Since the reopening of the hotel in 1951, it has already hosted over 500 heads of state and witnessed many important historical events.

Cathay Building is a British Gothic style architecture established in 1926 with 14 floors. It is a combination of the outstanding architecture style of the 1990s and the decoration style of the 1920s. The half-arc escalator, copper door, iron decorations as well as unique floor instruction clocks in the lift porch, though over 80 years old, still show the perfect makings of the classics.

Built in 1964, Cathay Garden is refurbished in 2005, following the decoration style of Cathay Building and Grosvenor House. Guests and visitors are able to see the grand lobby elegantly redesigned to feature a lobby library, presenting the profound history and cultural of Jin Jiang Hotel.

Built in 1934, the Grosvenor House is 78-meter high with symmetrical five-curve shape, both sides of it ascends towards middle part in bench slope (from the 13^th to the 18^th floor).The whole construction consists of three parts, the central part (service apartments), the east wing and the west wing (suites).

Built in 1934, the 18-meter high 4-storey Jun Ling Building consists of 6 battery-like apartments with an area of 10227 square meters. The building is built of fireproof material and brown wall bricks, featuring luxurious interior and exterior decoration in a harmonious fashion.

Constructed in 1959 and refurbished in 2006, the 2-storey Jin Jiang Grand Hall covers a total floor area of 10960 square meters, which is specially used for various kinds of banquets and conventions. Jin Jiang Grand Hall,once as a place where Chairman Mao held meetings with his fellows and where the famous “Sino-America Joint Communiqué” was declared, has witnessed many significant meetings and conventions over the years.

The hotel enjoys excellent access to the downtown area. Its excellent location in the very heart of the former French Concession gives you easy access to two Business Centers, one Fitness Center and some fine restaurants and shops.
