This famous European-style restaurant and bar is located on the ground floor of the Custom House on the Bund. The Bund is entitled "Museum of International Architecture". The European architectures represented by the Custom House have always been a landmark of Shanghai.


The inside of the restaurant displays Medieval European elegance, from the magnificent antique door to the photos of ancient European buildings in every corner, and the classic music lets you feel like attending an extravagant royal banquet.


The restaurant is full of warmth and fragrance. Behind the oval bar stand two huge brewage jugs flashing with a tint of purple bronze. The fresh beer keeps flowing out from the tap. The specialty of the Fest Brew House is the German beer fresh brewed at the restaurant. The equipment to brew beer is imported from Bavaria, Germany, and the raw materials to brew beer are also imported from Germany. Here you can not only get to know the culture of European beer, but also taste the on-the-spot brewed beer which is indigenous, refreshing, full-bodied and frothy, and is produced according to the 1516 Germany Bavaria Beer Purity Law. The unfiltered beer contains more nutrition and has a refreshing taste and rich malt flavor. According to the market inspection of Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, the Fest Beer of the Bund Brewage Co. has remained to be the best beer in Shanghai for a solid decade. Vienna Sausage with Mustard and Horseradish Sauce 维也纳香肠配芥末和辣根沙司

Vienna-Style Sausage, or wiener, is a food with a history as long as the country of its origin. The sausages are entirely handmade from fresh pork or beef, which is mixed with seasoned pork fat and packed in the sheep intestine casing. The fresh sausages are first air-dried at a temperature of less than 60 degrees Celsius and then steam cooked at 80 degrees Celsius until the center reaches a temperature of 75 degrees. Finally the steamed sausages are smoked. By undergoing the strict production process, the sausages are moist, juicy and full of delicious flavors.

Wieners can be either beef or pork. Deep slits are cut in crisscross pattern with a knife along the top of the wiener, and each slit is as deep as one third of the thickness of the sausage. The wieners are then quickly fried in a heated pan with little bit of oil. In high heat, the partially sliced wiener "curls up" as the deep slits open up like flower pedals, which resembles the appearance of the fried red baby octopus. The fried sausages are served on a plate with mustard and horseradish sauce. Crispy outside and tender inside, the bite-size all-natural wieners has a very fine texture with the right degree of suppleness and elasticity. Each bite bursts with authentic flavors.


German Meatloaf with Fried Egg and Potato Salad 德式肉糕配煎鸡蛋及德式土豆色拉

Meatloaf is originated from Munich, Germany, which is also a world-famous place for beer and sausage.

Fresh ground pork are mixed with the world's best beer and many German spices, and then placed in a special mold. The fresh meatloaf is first smoke cooked on charcoal and wood chips, and then steamed at 60 degrees Celsius until well done. The taste is excellent.

The cooked meatloaf is cut into thin slices about 0.5cm in thickness. The meatloaf slice is pan-fried with a little bit of olive oil until medium well done and turns golden brown on both sides. The fried meatloaf slices are then transferred onto a plate for later use. An egg cooked sunny-side-up is placed on top of the meatloaf slice. Finally the meatloaf is served with the classic German potato salad on the side, which tastes so delicious that it tempts people eat more. A combination of the egg, meatloaf and potato salad makes this dish unbelievably delightful.


Red Wine Braised Ox Tail 红酒牛尾

Fresh skinless Ox tail is used in this dish; it is prepared using the Chinese cooking techniques with the western auxiliary ingredients and seasoning spices. This delicious innovative fusion dish has a deep red appearance and a robust rich flavor with the aroma of the wine.


Double Delight of Shrimp and Crab 虾蟹双鲜

This dish is made with freshwater shrimp from Thailand and the Chinese freshwater mud crabs. The peeled shrimps are first cleaned and coated with a flour paste. The river crabs are steamed until well done, de-shelled and the meat and roe are removed from the cavities. The crab meat, roe and the shrimps are stir-fried together. The translucent and crystalline shrimp perfectly matches the yellow golden crab meat, giving this dish a vibrant color and a striking appearance. The amalgamation of stir-fried shrimps and crab meat delivers an extremely smooth savory taste and doubles the pleasure on the palate.


Chicken Deluxe on Iron Plate 总汇铁盘鸡

The main ingredient of this dish is the fresh slaughtered freerun chicken raised in northern Jiangsu province. The chicken are cleaned, de-boned and marinated in a sauce made with ginger, red dates, Chinese mushroom, chopped spring onion, pepper and other ingredients. The chicken is placed on an iron plate and baked in the oven until well done. Soft and tender, the cooked chicken has delicious aroma and a delightful taste.
