Shanghai Xintiandi　上海新天地

Shanghai Xintiandi, which consists mainly of stone-gate buildings, is a new landmark that integrates tourism, sightseeing, relaxation, and shopping. It is a product of the blending of Chinese and Western styles, and moreover the history and culture of Shanghai that get solidified on architecture. On the basis of the principle of "repairing the old into the original form, protecting history, and boosting the city with culture," they launched a protective exploitation of this area, maintaining the stone-gate architecture that represents civil culture of Shanghai on the one hand and constructing new buildings that emit modern ambience on the other. The total floor space amounts to 58000 m². Thanks to its historical and cultural profiles, the modernization of the internal space, and the international trade, the elderly Chinese would find it quite nostalgic when going into Xintiandi, the young Chinese would feel rather fashionable, the foreigners would find it very Chinese, and the Chinese would feel it is very foreign. Before long, Xintiandi has become a high-class consumptive place of casual culture with a very high standard.
