| Step 1 Revision Review the knowledge learned last period. Step 2 Lead-in & pre-speaking Questions: 1.Do you do sports a lot? 2.What kinds of sports do you usually do? 3.When you are doing sports, do you need any equipment? Learn the following words. Sportswear, Tennis ball, tennis racket, sneaker Match the pictures with the equipment.
Step 3 While-speaking 1. Question: What advice did Paul give Marie? Show the listening material on the screen and answer the question. 2. Ask the students to read the dialogue together. Let the students find out what advice Paul gave to Marie. You’d better do some exercise. Why not start from fast walking or running? You can try tennis. Read these sentences together. 3.Pair-work Use you’d better, why not or you can to give advice on break-time activities. Examples: A: What shall we do after school today? B: Why not play ping-pong? A: Good idea. What do I need to bring? B: Just bring your ping-pong racket. Step4: Post-speaking Write sentences using the verbs related to sports. Example: Kick---- The boys are kicking a ball in the field. Students give the following verbs: play, jump, run, throw, swim, ski Then make sentences with these verbs.
