同学们,好好复习。上面文档里的内容和下面的是一样的。

口试题卡一

Section A. Directions: Read a passage as correctly and fluently as you can. (20%,共20)

The engine telegraph is a device with a pointer and handle, which is used to convey orders between the bridge and the engine room. Orders like "dead slow ahead" "half astern", "full ahead", "stop" are some examples of orders. When the personnel on the bridge move the handle of the telegraph on the bridge, there is a corresponding movement of the pointer of the engine room telegraph together with the sound of a gong. The engineer maneuvering the engine at the engine room on hearing the gong and the movement of the pointer will acknowledge the order by moving the handle to the same indication. The gong will then stop sounding.

Section B. Directions: Answer four questions. (20% 每题5分)

1. When should you check the engine telegraph?

The engine telegraph is checked before  ship's departure离开.

2. What should you prepare for fuel oil system when “Stand by engine”?

The fuel oil system should be primed灌注 by priming pump注油泵 and the system cleared清除 of air by vent通风 cocks旋塞.

3. Who should be present在场 when a boiler survey is carried out?

The Chief Engineer and the surveyor should be present.

4. What do the terms TAN and TBN for lube oil stand for?

TAN stands for Total Acid Number总酸值 while TBN stands for Total Base Number总碱值.

Section C. Directions: Present your ideas about a topic. (10% 10)

Actions to be taken when scavenge fire occurs

Once a scavenge fire occurs, we should inform the bridge without delay. The engine should be slowed down. Fuel to the affected cylinders should be shut off. Cylinder lubrication should be increased to minimize the risk of seizure. All the scavenge drains should be closed. A small fire will quickly burn out. But if the fire persists, the engine must be stopped. The fire extinguishing agent should be used to put out the fire.

口试题卡二

Section A. Directions: Read a passage as correctly and fluently as you can. (20%,共20)

Generally, deck officers, with the Captain, will take the leading role in the lifeboat drill. The engineers will test the lifeboat engines, or help out with machinery like hoisting motor, gravity brake. The catering department will be in charge of blankets, and other necessities of survival. Because of the cold weather, all that took part in the drill wore woolen clothing to keep warm. Each person wore his own life jacket. As they assembled underneath the lifeboats, one group to port and another to starboard, their names were called up. The deck officer in charge of that lifeboat will verify the names to make sure that nobody is missing. In this case, the engineer on duty was exempted from the drill. He had to look after the engines. The ship was still running at full speed.

Section B. Directions: Answer four questions. (20% 每题5)

1. How do you take samples取样 during bunkering加油?

Take oil samples three bottles for each kind of oil and sign the labels标签.

2. Suppose your ship has been insured投保, what will you do first to claim for申请 the insurance保险金 if the engine  is damaged?

I will invite邀请 a surveyor to do a damage survey损坏检验 first.

3. What would happen if your ship were found serious deficiencies缺陷 during the PSC inspection?

The ship would be detained滞留.

Section C. Directions: Present your ideas about a topic. (10% 共10分)

Describe the procedure to start an emergency generator

To start an emergency generator, the following procedures must be followed:

First check the lube oil level in the crankcase of its prime mover. Then check the fuel oil level in the tank. Also check the air pressure if the generator unit is air-started. And check the battery voltage if the unit is battery started. Make sure that there are no obstacles around the machine. After seeing that every thing is in order, start the machine.

口试题卡三

Section A. Directions: Read a passage as correctly and fluently as you can. (20%,共20)

For safety purposes, fire hoses connected to shore hydrants are laid on deck and pressurized. Precautions are taken to avoid tools or other materials from falling from the sides of the ship. Safety helmets are a must. Cables or hoses do not obstruct excess to passageways. Fire extinguishers are made available near welding sites. For long stay or cold climates, water in engines or pipes has to be drained away to prevent freezing. Some of the normal utilities may not be functional at that time. Often, the seamen will have to use the shore shower and toilet facilities. If for any reason cooling seawater is not supplied to the air-conditioning system on board by hoses, then there will not be air-conditioning.

Section B. Directions: Answer four questions. (20% 每题5分)

1. What is an Oil Record Book?

It is a document文件 to record记录 any oil operations操作 on board ship.

4. Who takes charge负责 of maintenance维护 and repair work of the lifeboat engine?

The fourth engineer takes charge of it.

Section C. Directions: Present your ideas about a topic. (10% 10)

Please describe a bunkering operation on board your ship

When selecting oils, there are many factors to be taken into account, such as the oil’s viscosity, cetane number, calorific value, water content, flash point and so on. Before bunkering, the third engineer will go down to the oil lighter. He will make some measurements on the lighter. He will take soundings, measure the temperature and water content of the oil in the tanks. After bunkering, but before disconnecting the pipe, they will flush the oil remaining in the hose with compressed air. And the third engineer will go down to the oil lighter to sound the tanks again.
