Section C  Dialogues  

Listen to the following dialogues, and pay special attention to the phrases and sentences which express one’s opinion about the further education.

★ Dialogue One  

(Nick is having an interview. The interviewer is talking with him about further education.)

 

Interviewer: Good Morning. Take a seat.

Nick:      Good morning. Thank you.

Interviewer: We want a person with good English. How about your proficiency in English?

Nick:      Quite good, I think. I received a good training as an English interpreter during my college study. Judging from the conversation we are carrying on, what do you think of my English?

Interviewer: Terrific! It seems that you have a gift for language. Do you have any questions to ask about the position?

Nick:     You know this field is developing at a high speed, so I’ll never stop studying. I wonder if I would have the opportunity for training if I’m hired.

Interviewer: For every two years we send some employees here to our offices in America or France to work or receive training for six months. Do you have any plan for further education?

Nick:     Yes, I plan to get my degree of MS, but before that, I want to get some practical work experience and earn some money.

Interviewer: Then how long do you plan to stay here?

Nick:      About two years. If everything goes well, I hope to come back after I get the MS degree.

Interviewer: OK. Anything else?

Nick:      No, thanks.

★ Dialogue Two

(Cao Jiajia is having an interview. She is asking the personnel manager, Rein, something about the training program.)

 

Cao: Do you offer training programs to new employees?

Rein: Sure. We give strict training to the new employees in Beijing.

Cao: Glad to hear that. By the way, I’m not a registered resident of Wuxi.

Rein: You don’t need to worry. Our company will settle that.

Cao: I have no other questions. Thank you very much.

Rein: By the way, do you live far from our company?

Cao: Not so far. It takes me about 30minutes to travel by bus.

Rein: Good. I’ll inform you in a week.

Cao: Thank you. It was my pleasure to talk to you.
