When analyzing a cause-and-effect situation, we need to askthe following questions:
1. Whatare the causes? What are the effects?
2. Whichshould be emphasized: the cause or the effect?
3. Arethere multiple causes or multiple effects?
While writing a cause-and-effect essay, we need to rememberthe following:
1. Statebriefly the causes or effects to be discussed in the thesis statement.
2. Planto use one paragraph to describe each of the causes or effects.
3. Use theorder of importance to organize details.
4. Usingappropriate transitions such as :
because of, as a result of, caused by, result from, thereason is that..., for, due to, since (Causes)
cause, result in, thus, therefore, consequently, as a result(Effects)
