The defender should be kept n years as long as its marginal cost at EOY n is less than the minimum EUAC of best challenger.



Service Period is Known 

Grouping defender and challenger together to compare the EUAC of each group.

Service period is an important factor in the Deferred Time Decision to decide the optimal replacement time point of the defender.

Deferred Time Decision can obtain better results than the Real Time Decision.
