Commencement address (also known as commencement speech) is a speech given to graduating students, generally at a college or university in the US, although the term is also used for secondary education institutions. Taboo is a violent prohibition of an action based on the belief that such behavior is either too sacred or too accursed for ordinary individuals to undertake, under threat of supernatural punishment. Common taboos involve restrictions or ritual regulation of killing and hunting, sex and sexual relationships, reproduction (abortion, infanticide), the deceased and their graves, food and dining (primarily cannibalism and dietary laws such as vegetarianism and halal), and bodily functions.
