The "Chinese Residents' Dietary Guidelines" have been revised three times since its first release in 1989, in 1997, 2007, and 2016. After nearly three years of effort, the Chinese Nutrition Society experts completed the revision in 2022 and released the "Chinese Residents' Dietary Guidelines (2022)."
The "Chinese Residents' Dietary Guidelines (2022)" include dietary guidelines for the general population over 2 years old and specific guidelines for 9 target populations. It also revised visual graphics such as the Chinese Residents' Balanced Diet Pagoda, Chinese Residents' Balanced Diet Plate, and Children's Balanced Diet Abacus to guide the public in practical implementation in daily life.
