Estimated average requirement(EAR):The average requirement of a nutrient for a group of individuals.
Recommended nutrient intake(RNI):The level of nutrient intake that is adequate to meet the nutrient requirements of nearly all (97% to 98%) individuals in a specific gender, age, and physiological status group.
Adequate intake,(AI):A safe intake level of a nutrient, established based on observed or experimentally determined approximations of nutrient intake by a group of healthy people.
Tolerable upper intake level(UL):The maximum daily intake of a nutrient that is unlikely to cause adverse health effects for almost all individuals in the general population.
Acceptable macronutrient distribution ranges(AMDR):The range of intake for a particular macronutrient that is associated with a reduced risk of chronic disease while providing adequate intakes of essential nutrients.
Proposed intakes for preventing non-Communicable chronic diseases(PI-NCD):The recommended daily intake of essential nutrients to prevent non-communicable chronic diseases.
Specific proposed levels(SPL):The recommended daily intake of food components other than essential nutrients to maintain human health.
