Nowadays,to provide parents with enough food is considered being filial. But dogs andhorses are also provide to that extent. Without respect, what is thedifference?

Showreverential respect to the aged of your own and extend the respect to the agedof others; cherish the children of your own and extend the love to the childrenof others.
