TEXT A  The Story of Room 709

The story of four graduates of Xinghua Institute of Engineering quickly went viral. Their dormitory became a famous “top student” dormitory, attracting many students from the same school to visit. They were students in the Software Engineering Class B of the School of Information Engineering and lived in Dormitory 709, Building 3 East. Recently, they successfully upgraded their lives from college students to university students.

Three years ago, as soon as they entered the college, the four boys, who were disciplined and fond of learning, were assigned to the same dormitory. They won many awards during their college years. Wang Hao won the third prize in the National Higher Vocational Computer Competition. Cheng Bin won the second prize in the Software Analysis Project Design Competition. Li Hong and Zhong Qiqi are chairmen of the Students’ Union.

“We study hard, and we hope our dream of upgrading our lives will come true!”Cheng Bin said,“I think the studying atmosphere is very important. With the same goal, we moved forward every day, pushing and supporting each other.” “We have endured loneliness and boredom for a long time.” Li Hong said, “During the half-year preparation for the top-up exam, we only went to three places, the library, the canteen and the dorm. 

We were able to resist external temptations, such as giving up eating out and learning to put down our mobile phones.” The four boys always get together, basically preparing for exams. Wang Hao said, “The happiest time was to meet the problems that we could not solve easily, and then we discussed heatedly in the dorm using several pages of scratch paper. Sometimes in order to solve a problem we would spend dozens of minutes together so we can concentrate on reviewing the problem in its entirety.”

Zhong Qiqi said, “We are happy to successfully upgrade our lives through our own efforts. This is an unforgettable experience and we will keep it in our minds and hearts in our lives. We help and support each other, study and grow up together, and finally we upgrade our lives successfully.”
