1. 教学内容

1A brief introduction to Geoffrey Chaucer, Edmund Spenser and their masterpieces

2)Shakespeare's writing

2. 教学基本要求

1) Make students know the social background: the two opposite classes, the enclosure movement, Renaissance etc.. 

2) Make Ss have a general  idea of Chaucer, Spenser, Shakespeare and their masterpieces.

3) Make Ss have an idea of  Humanism and English Renaissance. 

4) Make clear about the differences between Shakespeare's sonnets and that of Petrarch's.

5) Appreciation of one of Shakespeare's sonnets. 

6) Make Ss know something about Shakespeare's narrative poems.
