课程简介

（一）课程中文简介

“现代技术与翻译”这门课学习的是计算机辅助翻译知识、计算机辅助口译技术、机器翻译软件、新兴的翻译技术及计算机技术对翻译职业的影响等。本课程是为英语专业三年级本科生开设的一门必修课，承担着双重任务。一是促进学生掌握计算机辅助翻译知识，熟练几种常用的口笔译软件。同时通过大量的专业实践，帮助学生掌握双语转换技能，培养职业能力。

在当今信息化时代，计算机在各行各业发挥着越来越大的作用。计算机辅助翻译技术与工具在翻译工作中的应用越来越多，掌握计算机辅助翻译知识，学生走向工作岗位后，能更快地完成翻译工作。秉承“语言+技术+职业”的先进理念，通过让英语专业学生熟悉、掌握和创新应用现代翻译技术，助力本专业跨越语言关，助力跨文化交流能力、国际竞争力和国际自信心提升。

 

（二）课程英文简介

 “Modern Technology and Translation” aims to cultivate knowledge on computer-aided translation (CAT), computer-aided interpreting (CAI), machine translation (MT), post-editing (PE), and various types of technologies in the translation process. This course is a compulsory course for the third year English majors. Specifically, it has two major teaching objectives. The first objective is to promote basic knowledge on computer-aided interpreting and translation and other prevailing translation technologies. The second objective is to develop bilingual transferring skills and professional skills through a large number of professional practices.

In the information age, computers are playing an increasingly important role in all walks of life. The computer-aided translation tools have been widely used in translation and language providing service. With knowledge of computer-aided translation, students will become more competent in completing translation task after they step into workforce. Adhering to the advancing concept of “language+ technology+ profession”, this course will devote to foster basic knowledge of modern translation technology, develop their cross-cultural communication skills, and improve their international competitiveness and self-confidence.
