Traditionally, a teacher may follow a PPP model to teach vocabulary:
1. Presentation:
Teachers may apply different ways to present vocabulary according to what words they are going to present:

Remember: There are so many differents of presenting vocabulary, not just translation and English-English explanation.
2. Practice:
It is suggested that various activities in group work under the teacher’s supervision will make vocabulary learning happen more effectively; and that learning becomes more effective only when students understand the meaning of the new vocabulary. Here are some suggested activities:
1) traditional test-taking exercises:
blank-filling, multiple choice questions, sentence rewriting, translation, sentence making, find synonyms and antonyms, etc.
2) activities for short memory and for fun:
labelling, play a game, word bingo (text book, section 8.4)
3) activities for developing vocabulary strategies:
use word series, word association, categories, using word net-work (text book, section 8.4).
3. Production:
It is the stage where students can have more meaningful communication with each other while keeping an eye on the newly-learned vocabulary. Here are some suggested activities:
spot the difference, describe and draw, role-play, dialogue, etc.
