Welcome to Unit 8.
Our topic this week is Sports. Sports is a great topic this week with the beginning of the world cup.
Go ahead and watch the welcome video and then we will get into the lesson.

Sports push humans to the extremes of their abilities. And sometimes, people do what seems impossible.
Sports can also be highly competitive. Because of this, they can be emotionally charged. Here are some great moments from sporting history.

I love sports. They are a big part of my life. What sport you might ask? Well, take a look below.

Playing Football (Soccer)
- Yes, those pictures are at Sias.

Hockey
(That is my brother with me.)

Four-Wheeling

Fishing

Water Skiing

Mountain Climbing

Cliff Jumping
(Look carefully in the circle. That is me. And yes, I did jump off there. It is more than 20 meters up.)
Now, I spend more time on my kids sports, than on my own.

Here are my boys at a rugby tournament.

I am coaching one of my younger sons in football.

Kneeboarding
(You cannot see very clearly, but one of my boys is actually standing on behind me holding on around my shoulders.)

Fishing (again, but with my son)
- Look at the expression of happiness on his face!

Skiing (Downhill Skiing or Snow Skiing)
- Spending quality time together. Getting exercise. Developing our physical abilities. And having a blast (fun).
