How China Becomes a Country of Innovation

Since ancient times science and technology have been an irresistible force driving the development of human society. A new scientific and technical revolution is currently under way. China, in vigorously promoting its overall development, has identified scientific and technological innovationas the main driving force.

In China, of every three mobile phone owners, two use mobile payment apps. China is now the world’s largest mobile payment market. What do other countries most want to acquire from China? Bike-sharing, mobile payment, and online shopping are all on the list. China’s express delivery sector has been the world leader for the past three years. Its target now is to deliver 100million parcels a day.

Science and technology have not only transformed life for ordinary Chinese people, but also spurred the development of business. In 2016, nearly 90,000 industrial robots were sold in China, more than in any other country. Supported by the government, smart factories are now operating in 146 industrial sectors. The greater integration of industrialization and informatization has set China well along the path to becoming a modern manufacturing power.

Cutting-edge technical innovations are broadening the world’s appreciation of China’s strength. These people are also contributing to China’s growing strength. The number of returnees to China from overseas exceeds 2.65million. Seventy percent of them have returned in the past five years.

In China, talented young people are playing the pivotal role in promoting innovation. With their pioneering spirit of innovation, they’re thriving in China’s fertile soil.

Never before has the conviction been stronger that science and technology are the key to strengthening the country, improving its people’s lives and spurring enterprises’ development. Innovation-driven development is shaping a country of innovation. By working together to drive innovation, her people are creating this amazing China!
