| Step1.The importance of listening 1.The importance of listening Listening is preparing for speaking. Before we ask children to speak or repeat after the teacher or the recorder, they should be allowed to listen and respond with gestures and actions as a way to show their understanding 2.Purpose of listening Slattery and Wills (2001) pointed: Using listening for a purpose ; Giving them the opportunity → to show what they understand; to acquire the language; to absorb the sounds and patterns of the language naturally. (understanding and thinking, real-life, clear purpose) Listen and do, coloring, numbering, ticking, pointing, matching Listen and judge, draw, choose, discriminate, order, compare, guess, follow directions Listen and fill in the table, complete the flow chart, finish the dialogue, solve the problem, join in Note-taking Step 3. Importance of Speaking Listening and speaking are often more important at the beginning, and children are interested in communicating with others through listening and speaking. 2. The aims and objectives of teaching speaking to children 1). What should be the focus when teaching speaking to children? - design motivating activities and games; - repeat in different forms; - not teach grammar rules explicitly; - focus on meaning 2). Step7. Speaking Activities 1. Classification of speaking activities 1) Controlled activities: Controlled activities mainly focus on form and accuracy. 2) Semi-controlled activities. Semi-controlled activities focus more on meaning and communication. 3) Communicative activities. Communicative activities allow for real information exchange 2. Order the pictures Ss order the three pictures and tell the reason. Step8. Let’s talk 版块基本课堂教学步骤 1. Warm-up/Revision 利用Let’s learn复习会话教学中的主要词汇,扫清词汇理解上的障碍 2. Presentation 尽量创设真实的情景整体呈现会话语篇内容(听录音,看挂图,讲故事,演木偶,看vcd) 3. Practice 提取主句型,让学生通过语境理解句型的含义,从机械性操练(带读/跟读)过渡到趣味活动操练重点语言,增加输入量,以多种形式呈现,从而引发学生学习兴趣并帮助学生理解巩固新知识 4. Meaningful Practice—Group work/Let’s play 版块可作为主句型的趣味操练活动来开展 5. Consolidation—Back to the text 通过总-分对会话版块的学习,回归课本再次整体感知,借助图片分角色朗读、设情景表演、整体操练对话(锻炼学生听说能力) 达成教学目标:1)通过板书和其他教学辅助手段让学生能从音、形、意、用掌握主要句型; 2)Let’talk版块能理解意义、能听懂、能朗读 Step9. Practice 1.
