Part 1 (Para. 1):
This part serves as a general introduction to the passage, through which the reader will get a glimpse of Mark Twain, who was not only adventurous, patriotic, romantic, and humorous, but also cynical, bitter and unhappy.
Part 2 (Paras. 2-7):
This part depicts Mark Twain’s life experiences before his writing career, which provided him with rich material for his later humorous writings.
Part 3 (Paras. 8-18):
This part introduces Mark Twain’s writing career.
Part 4 (Paras. 19-22):
This part tells the reader the reason for his shift from a humorous writing style to a bitter and satirical one and the crumbling(崩溃;破碎,粉碎 ) of his last illusions.
