《实用英语口语》是大学英语课程体系中一个重要的组成部分，它既是英语口语训练课程，也是为拓展和提高学生语言综合应用的技能类课程。课程结合传统教学与AI辅助，采用任务式教学方法和翻转课堂教学模式，利用现代信息技术，构建线上和线下相结合的多元立体学习环境，帮助学生达到在具体社会情境中得体使用语言的目的。本课程强调过程性评估，重视学生的参与，体现了课程的高阶性与挑战度。
本课程使用教材为十二五国家级规划教材《英语口语教程（第三版）》，同时选用《TED演讲听说进阶》及《英语演讲选评100篇》作为参考资料。教学内容选材经典，涉及人际关系、娱乐与艺术、身心健康、成功人生等多个主题，能够有效激发学生学习兴趣、扩展视野、提高综合文化素养，培养人文精神和思辨能力。通过本课程的学习，学生能够流利、自如地就通用领域或专业领域里一些常见话题进行对话或讨论，提高公众演讲、报告的技巧与能力。

This courseis an important part of the collegeEnglish system. It serves as a course to expand and improve the comprehensivelanguage abilities of English learners. The course combines traditionalteaching methods with AI-assisted instruction, employing task-based approachand a flipped classroom model. By utilizing modern information technologies, itcreates a multifaceted learning environment that integrates online and offlinelearning to help students master common expressions and use language appropriatelyin specific social contexts. Various assessment methods, especially theformative assessment, make the course more challenging and effective.
The textbook used forthis course is "Challenge to Speak (3rd Edition)," along with “Learn English with TED Talks” and“100 English Speeches with Comments” as supplementary resources. Texts aremostly selected from classical English materials and the contents cover topicssuch as interpersonal relationships, entertainment and arts, physical andmental health, and success, which stimulate students' interest, broaden theirhorizons, enhance cultural literacy, and cultivate a humanistic spirit andcritical thinking skills. Students will be able to engage in conversations ordiscussions on common topics or professional fields fluently and skillfully andbecome confident public speakers and presenters.
