Graphs and Charts

A graph or chart should be clear andunambiguous. In order to help to achieve this aim anumber ofrules should be followed:

  1. Give each graph or chart a name or atitle

  2. State the source of any data that hasbeen used

  3. State the units of measurement that havebeen used

  4. Give a scale so that the graph or chartcan be properly interpreted

  5. Ensure that the presentation is neat

  6. Use a key to explain the contents

  7. If axes are used, they should be properly labelled.
