1.      Enjoy a video clip and fill in the blanks

 

2.      Guess the meaning of each word you filled

 

Step Three: Global Reading of Text A  Muscle (25 minutes)

 

1.      T  asks S to scan and skim Text A and find the answers of the following  questions (15minutes)

 

What is the most important quality of  muscle cells?

 

What word parts do the words pertaining  to muscle usually begin with?

 

What is the difference between striated  muscle and smooth muscle in appearance?

 

What are the advantage of skeletal muscle  in terms of contraction?

 

Why is it misleading when skeletal muscle  is called voluntary muscle according to this passage?

 

Why is cardiac muscle far more resistant  to fatigue than skeletal muscle?

 

In which body parts can we find smooth  muscle?

 

Smooth muscle is capable of slow but  sustained, powerful contractions and has a great contractile range. What  phenomenon displays these features of smooth muscle?
