M: No, but, I have a few leads, so things are looking up.
W: What kind of job are you looking for?
M: Actually, I want to work for a Web hosting company.
W: What would you do there exactly?
M: Well, [19]I'd like to work in technicalsupport, you know, helping customers resolve computer-relatedproblems with their sites. And you know I'm a good communicator.
W: So, how's the pay for that sort of job?
M: Well, most people I know start out with a veryreasonable salary; you can earn pay increases depending on your performance.
W: So, what about benefits?
M: Oh, the benefits are pretty good. They provide healthinsurance, two weeks of paid vacation a year, and opportunities foradvancement.
W: Well, is there long-term job security in a job likethat?
M: Uhh. [20]That's hard to tell. I mean, the Internetis booming, and these kinds of companies are sprouting upeverywhere, which is a good thing, [20]but just like the dot-comera, you never know how long things will last.
W: Well, have you ever thought about going back to schoolto improve your job skills?
M: What are you suggesting?
W: You know, [21]you did drop out of college.
M: I know, I know, but I don't know. I'm just seeing mycurrent job at McDonalds as a step up. I don't have the resources at the momentto do that; however, the job I am looking at will pay for some classes after Ihave been with the company for six months.
W: Well, it looks like you have things planned out thistime.
M: If I last that long.
