1. There is a widespread notion that the ability to learn a foreign language is a special gift, without which the ordinary person can never hope to get very far. Evidence is building up, however, that the difficulties under which most of us labor in learning a new language are the result, not of any innate lack of aptitude, but of inhibitions that our culture imposes on us. It helps if we can be in an environment where language –learning is looked on in a friendly, rather than a hostile or mocking way. Successful learning necessitates the freedom from fear of being laughed at, a reasonably good memory and a willingness to progress by trial and error. All these preconditions are matters of attitude.

2. It takes experience and quick wit to be a competent corporate leader. What counts is the ability to weigh one alternative against another in order to see things in perspective, to come up with effective solutions in case of emergency and to see forth a vision of where the company needs to go. With him as a role model, the employees are likely to show more initiative at work with spontaneous willingness to run a risk in the interest of the company. As a result of the successive wave of economic globalization, leaders of multinationals have come to recognize the importance of capable executives who can pursue the long-term strategies of the company and seek to attain the goal set by the company.
