The pre-contract phase is principally concerned with all the preparatory work necessary to:
• identify and prepare proposals to meet the client's demands
• enable the signing of the contract by the client
• prepare all the materials for building approval
• identify which contract and tender system is to be used
• appoint the contractor(s) based off the procurement process.
The construction process is further sU1b-divided as follows:
1. briefing phase - identify the client's needs and interpret them
2. proposal phase - offer the client solutions for the proposed project
3. detail design phase - produce all the documentation necessary
4. construction phase - the planning and construction of the project
5. hand over phase - completion and hand over to the client.
