The types of work commonly under the control of the building sur-veyor are: 

conservation of listed buildings and monuments of architectural or historic importance, to ensure any repair/restoration work is carried out properly and correctly

the diagnosis of building defects and the remedial work neces­sary, advice on energy conservation and energy conservation methods through the use of approved insulation

egotiation of building wats wit he appopriat: authorities, in order _ to meet restoration/refurbishment _ _ demands


general control and management of a building programme, es­pecially restoration of historic or other important structures

property surveys* of a general and structural nature. This will include surveys of houses which are for sale and sub丿ect to loan agreements, as well as structural surveys conducted prior to restoration or refurbishment.
