Part I.  Recruitment process.

  1. Question: if you work in the HR department, the sales department is in need of 3 foreign sales reps. You are asked to make a plan for the whole recruitment. What will be covered in your plan? 

  2. Exercise: Match the verbs to the nouns to make word partnerships.

  3. Listen to a consultant talking about the recruitment process to check your anwers in I & 2.

  4. Complete the text using the following phrases or words.

    Teacher explains:  curriculum vitae,  resume,  probationary period, inteview, application form, covering letter, psychometric test.....

  5. Use the adjectives to decribe a person.

    motivated, reliable, adaptable, dedicated, resourceful, charismatic, meticulous...

Ask Ss to work out more words in this category.

Part II.  How to motivate high-calibre staff?

Teaching design:

  1. ask Ss to look through the article and answer the questions below.     

        A: What qualities of high performers are mentioned in the article?

    B: What are the problems of losing high performers?

    C: Which motivating factors are mentioned in the article?

2. ask Ss to give the answer.

Part III   Headhunting
