Part I Warming-up

 1. What is culture? Choose the four factors which you think is the most important in creating a culture. And give your reasons.

   language,  ideas and beliefs, institutions, religion, cuisine,social customs and traditions, ceremonies and festivals, etc..

2. Ask Students to discuss the importance of cultural awareness for businesspeople.

3. Ask Students to decicide whether the following things important in China when doing business with Chinese businesses.

  Giving presents,  shaking hands, being formal or informal, small talk before meetings,accepting interruption...

4. To  give a training about cultural awareness.

Listen to the recording and fill in the missing information.

Ask Students to check the answers.

5. Ask students to finish the idioms exercises.

6. Ask students to make up stentences by using at least two idioms. Group work.

   If a group works out sentences by using more than two idoms, the members will win 1 point for the course score.

 Homework: If you are the HR manager, you are asked to give a training to the staff who will be allocated abroad to work for two years. What should be covered in the training. You have to give a two-minute speech.
