Taxonomy

1 : the study of the general principles of scientific classification : systematics

especially : orderly classification of plants and animals according to their presumed natural relationships

Meronymy the  semantic   relation  that  holds  between  a  part  and   the  whole part to whole relation semantic relation -  a  relation   between  meanings component part, part,  portion, component, constituent -  something  determined   in  relation  to  something  that  includes   it;  "he  wanted  to  feel  a  part   of  something  bigger  than  himself";   "I  read  a  portion  of  the  manuscript";   "the  smaller  component  is  hard  to   reach";  "the  animal  constituent  of   plankton"
