Example ICON, a computersoftware company based in LA, USA, wants to hold a seminar in France. It will starton Friday July 5th and end on Sunday July 7th. It willinclude meetings. The purpose of the seminar is to encourage hard work, and providechances for senior managers to relax themselves. The manager of Travel Servicewants to book a hotel which is both stylish and value for money.

   Task (任务)The travel servicedepartment of ICON has to choose a great hotel for a seminar held in France.

        步骤一The manager of ICONs travel service phones the Account managerfor Corporate Travel at Universal Airlines. He asks Universal to proposethree hotels in Francefor the seminar.— 10分钟

      通过设计游戏完成:Rearrange the ‘turns’ thatthe teacher will give you into a logical telephone conversation. (设计原因:降低难度,调动更多学生参与,提高积极性)-剪乱顺序,学生根据逻辑,轮到自己就站起来读出纸条上的内容,抢答且答错,纸条传给没有纸条的学生,如果在5秒内没有接上话轮,持纸条者失败,教师接上,下一个学生继续接上。

         以下是步骤一的完整对话。

         Receptionist (R): Good morning, Universal Airlines. How may Ihelp you?

         JACK WANG (Manager of Travel service):It’s Jack Wang here. Could

you please put me through to Sherry Liu’s office?

         R: Certainly. Putting you through.

         Sherry Liu (Account manager atUniversal Airline): Hello. Sherry Liu speaking.

         JW: Hello Sherry. It’s Jack Wang here.Do you still remember that the hotel you recommended last time was terrific? Mycolleagues spoke highly of the surroundings and facilities there.

         SL: Yes, I remember. How are you?

         JW: Fine thanks. I am calling because Iwant to book a hotel from you again to hold a seminar in France. Can youhelp?

         SL: Yes, I am glad to. How many maleand female people will attend this time? How long will they stay and from when?

         JW: 12 male and 8 female and I wantsingle rooms for all participants. They will arrive on Friday afternoon, July 5thand leave on Sunday evening, July 7th.

         SL: OK. My second question is whatkind of hotel they like.

        JW: They’d prefercomfortable and stylish hotel in an interesting area, 3- or4-star hotel.

         SL: Ok. I have written it down. Mythird question is about requirements of the meeting rooms and equipment.

         JW: They need a large conference roomand 3 smaller rooms equipped with basic facilities.

    SL:My last question is about requirements for meals.

JW: Let me see. Oh, thereare two participants who are vegetarian. Four do not drink alcohol.

SL:Is there any special requirement?

JW: Oh, yes. Oneparticipant uses wheelchair. And six are smokers. Can you propose three hotelsin Francefor us to choose from?

SL: Yes, I can.  I will send you three proposals of hotels viaemail by this Friday.     

JW:Perfect. Thanks very much.

SL:You are welcome. Thanks for calling, bye.

JW:Have a nice day. Bye.

步骤二:To hold a meeting todiscuss the best hotel for the seminar from the three proposals. First askstudents to watch a short video which introduces the three hotels. Whenstudents watch the video, the teacher has to explain some points about thehotels. After that, ask students to work in a group of 4 students. After themeeting, the PA will make a short report about the decision and their reasons.
