A large proportion of your campus is covered by vegetation and bodies of water, which is pleasant to the eye on one hand but irritating on the other because mosquitos, flies, rodents, etc. find it attractive too. You are divided as to whether pesticides should be sprayed to exterminate (消灭) those pests. 

Step 1 Choose a side, either for or against the use of pesticides. 

Step 2 Gather into two groups or a number of smaller groups on each side to brainstorm your respective arguments and counter-arguments, some of which could be borrowed from both texts in this unit. 

Step 3 Hold a debate between the two sides.
