Text A Overview: Human Perception

Text A Overview: Human Perception

Pre-reading Activities:

1. What are the five basic senses? Do you agree or disagree that our senses have some limitations? Why?

2. Form groups of four or five. Look at the following pictures and write down a few words for each picture to describe your perceptions about the following questions:

  • What can you see in these pictures?

  • What does everyone in each picture look like?

  • What are the people doing?

  • What is their relationship to one another?

  • Why are they doing so?

After answering the questions, share with your group members what you have written down. Try to discuss why you and your group members give different answers. What factors do you think influence your perceptions of the picture?
