Let's talk about manias.

A mania is an extremely strong desire or enthusiasm for sth, often shared by a lot of people at the same time. If you say that a person or group has a mania for something, you mean that they enjoy it very much or spend a lot of time on it.

Manias can be good. Manias can be alarming. Or manias can be deadly.
