能力目标

  • To practise retrieving specific information by watching video clips of personal experience;

  • To practise retrieving specific information and identifying speaker’s opinions by listening to an interview.

  • To practise reading for gist and summarizing main ideas in Chinese;

  • To practise identifying specific information from a promotional video;

  • To practise identifying specific opinions of the writer by reading a journalistic text.

  • To practise listening for main ideas and specific information in a mini-lecture; 

  • To practise reflecting on the relevant information and forming their own opinions.

  • To practise reading for specific information in an information-intensive text;

  • To practise identifying similarities and differences in the education systems of three countries, i.e. China, US, and the UK. 

  • To practise using information and vocabulary from these texts to construct and present an argument.

  • To identify the language that expresses attitudes, persuasion, difficulties, and definitions;

  • To explore the use of “where” as a connector;
