Give a Presentation about Proper Behavior in Other Countries

Consider what you have learned in this unit, and then make a presentation about what advice you would give to a person from overseas on how to behave if he/she is visiting the home of someone in your country? Please follow the steps and give your presentation to the class.

 

Step 1 Find a clue

Work in a group. You mayask your 2-3 partners the questions in the chart. Note down your and your partners' answers.



Step 2 Organize your ideas

Organize your notes, then have a conversation with your partners to find out more details if necessary. List the topic and main supporting ideas for your presentation.

 Topic sentence: When visiting the home of someone in my country, it is important to keep several things in mind.

Supporting idea 1: Bring a small gift for the hosts.

Supporting idea 2: Make sure that you arrive at your hosts' home on time. 

Supporting idea 3: Take off your shoes before entering your hosts’ house.

Conclusion: Following these pieces of advice will ensure that you have a pleasant visit, and make a good impression on your hosts.
