Give a Presentation about Societal Benefits of the Arts

Consider what you have learned in this unit, and then develop a presentation about the societal benefits of the arts. How does art better us as people, and as a community? Please follow the steps and then give your presentation to the class.


Step 1 Find a clue

Work in a group. You mayask your 2-3 partners the questions in the chart. Note down your and your partners' answers.


Step 2 Organize your ideas

Organize your notes, and then have a conversation withyour partners to find out more details if necessary. List the topic and main supporting ideas for your presentation.


Topic sentence: There are several significant societal benefits of the arts. 

Supporting idea 1: Art connects us to others in our communities.

Supporting idea 2: Art helps people become more active in their communities. 

Supporting idea 3: Art broadens our understanding of the world.

Conclusion: While many people dismiss the arts as unnecessary, what they fail to realize is that art provides society with numerous benefits.
