Activity Time

Activity 

Activity 1:

Would you please introduce a sports star to your classmate? An interesting story about him or her would be liked and appreciated very much. 

This activity can be designed as an interview. Suppose you were a sports star, your partner were a journalist, you are interviewed by your partner. Make a dialogue.

Activity  2:

First Label the body parts, and then ask one student speaks any of the word and gives order, the other student points to their various bodyparts.


Activity  3:

This project introduces a popular but controversial  sport—Parkour(or other sports),and discusses its advantages and disadvantages.

Activity  4:

Work in pairs. One plays the role ofdoctor and the other patient. Practice the following situations in a clinic.

You have a headache.The doctor diagnoses it as being run-down (疲劳的).


Example :

D:What seems to be the problem?

P:Well, I have a headache and feel dizzy.

D:Do you have a cough?

P:No.

D:How long have you had these symptoms?

P:About three days.

D:You look run-down.

P:Yes. I’ve got a heavy workload recently.

D:Hmm. It sounds like you are under too much job stress. Get plenty of rest. Callme if you still feel sick next week.

P:OK, thanks.

Activity 5:

Work in pairs. One plays the role ofdoctor and the other patient. Practice the following situations in a clinic.

You are sick. The doctor suggests that you take an X-ray.

Example :

P:Doctor, I slipped while hiking yesterday. I have a pain in my ankle and can’twalk. I’m limping.

D:Let me see…

P:Ouch! It hurts.

D:Your ankle is swollen badly.

P:Do you think it is a fracture? The pain is unbearable.

D:It looks like a sprain, but it’s better to take an x-ray to makesure. You can go to the adjacent lab and have it x-rayed. (Patient comes backwith the x-ray result.)

D:Let me have a look. Mm… Fortunately, you haven’t

Activity  6:

Suppose you were a coach, please make a dialogue with your partner about how to keep fit in our daily life (sport exercise, healthy diet, healthy living habits).

Activity  7:

Your best friend failed an important examination and is in very low spirits. Try to write a letter to comforthim/her. The following words, expressions and sentence structures are for your reference.
