1.3 Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunar calendar, which is Sept. 21 this year.

As one of the traditional Chinese festivals, the Mid-Autumn Festival is an important time of the year for family reunions. People usually appreciate the moon, visit lantern shows, fly kongming lanterns or have dragon boat races to celebrate the festival.

Mooncakes are the must-eat food during the festival. The roundness of the mooncakes represent family reunions and happiness.
