In order to help enriching students' school life and broaden their horizon, the Student Union organized a meaningful activity last weekend---visiting a local farm, through which students are expected to grasp much knowledge about agriculture.

Located in the suburb of Beijing and far away from our school, the farm students visited covers an area of 1000 square feet. Along with some native foods like rice and potatoes, the farmers on that farm also grow many organic vegetables, including corn, cucumbers, tomatoes and so forth. Besides, the farm breeds a host of local species such as dairy cattle, geese, chicken by modern scientific techniques. One of the things that impressed the students most is that by means of green farming, the problem of environmental pollution has been effectively alleviated.

This outdoor activity has left a positive effect on the students. Not only did it enable the students to get closer to the nature ---hence relieving pressure from their daily school life, it also enhanced their professional knowledge about husbandry technology.
