Upstate New York [纽约北部地区] refers to the northern part of New York State. This area is known as a place for holiday breaks, honeymoons and outdoor activities with its lakes and mountains.

The Greyhound bus company[灰狗巴士公司]  is the largest North American bus company. It offers long- range bus services to over 3,800 destinations in the US, Canada and Mexico.

DC[哥伦比亚特区] refers to Washington DC (the District of Columbia, which is a federal district — not a state). It is the capital of the United States of America.

Australia meets the definition of an island ( a piece of land surrounded by water). However, it's large enough to be considered  a continent. Greenland [格陵兰岛] is regarded as the largest island in the world.

In the New York City Subway system, different routes are indicated by different letteres or numbers, which are also used to refer to the trains that travel over those routes, eg the "Q" train is the train that travels on the "Q" route.
