又到凤凰花开的时候，来到人生选择的路口。7月，广大高校毕业生们离开校园走向社会，在不同地方、不同专业领域和工作岗位开启新的奋斗人生。与大多数去往东部大城市的青年学子不同，中国石油大学（北京）克拉玛依校区118名首届本科毕业生选择了留在新疆，并写信给习近平总书记，表达了扎根西部、建设边疆的坚强决心。


7月7日，习总书记的回信惊喜而至，肯定了他们服务基层、支援西部的选择，也给即将奔赴祖国四面八方、实现人生理想的高校毕业生们指明了人生方向。

习总书记在信中写道，“这场抗击新冠肺炎疫情的严峻斗争，让你们这届高校毕业生经受了磨练、收获了成长，也使你们切身体会到了‘志不求易者成，事不避难者进’的道理。前进的道路从不会一帆风顺，实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦需要一代一代青年矢志奋斗。同学们生逢其时、肩负重任。希望全国广大高校毕业生志存高远、脚踏实地，不畏艰难险阻，勇担时代使命，把个人的理想追求融入党和国家事业之中，为党、为祖国、为人民多作贡献。”


He pointed out that college graduates this year have learned a lot from the arduous fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.


“There will be ups and downs along the road ahead, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation can only be achieved through the hard work of generations of youth,” Xi said.


Xi encouraged college graduates to aim high, be down-to-earth, brave difficulties and obstacles, shoulder the mission of the times, integrate their pursuit of ideals into the cause of the Party and the country, and make more contributions.

青年在成长和奋斗中，会收获成功和喜悦，也会面临困难和压力。要正确对待一时的成败得失，处优而不养尊，受挫而不短志，使顺境逆境都成为人生的财富而不是人生的包袱。

During one’s growth and endeavor, the young may gain success and joy, but may also face difficulties and pressure. One should treat the success and failure at the moment with a correct attitude, not slack in prosperity and not lose faith in adversity. 年轻人要有从容不迫的气度


那个时候我年轻，想办好事，差不多一个月大病一场。为什么呢? 老熬夜。经常是通宵达旦干。最后感觉到不行，这么干也长不了。先把自己的心态摆顺了，内在有激情，外在还是要从容不迫。

I was so eager to do my job well but fell ill quite often. The reason? I always burnt the midnight oil. Later I came to realize that I couldn’t work like this anymore. One has to be fully aware that one cannot finish all the work at a time, however enthusiastic one may be about the job.
