2.EXTENSION OF THE L/C

Sometimes the seller may fail to get the goods ready for shipmentin time or the buyer may request that the shipment be postponed for one reason or another, then the seller will have to ask for the extension of validity date of L/C  as well as the date of shipment. Therefore extension is also a kind of amendment, but only for the date.

 

The structure for the letter of extension may include:

1)Express gratitude and refer to the number of L/C.

2)Request for extension of the L/C and explain the reason.

3)Look forward to receiving the amendment.
