Basic conception

1.1 Basic conception  

1) Definition: “Biology for water and wastewater”is a branch of science to study :

    (1) biology in pollutants’ transferring,transform(转化), decomposition, microbes, water plants,aquatics (水生动物),

    (2) the interrelationship between waterenvironment and biology，

    (3) the affect of  microorganism’s activity on water environment.

2) Contents: to study some knowledge aboutbiology in   environmental administrationof water body.

（1）To study shapes, groups, thestructure , and function of biologic ’s community(群落);

（2）To study how microorganism  decompose, transform pollutants;

（3）To study the effect ofmicroorganism’s pollution and destruction (破坏) to waterenvironment;

（4）To study the way to usemicroorganism as guidelines (指标) for environmental monitoring(监测) of water ;

（5）To study the principle to treat“water pollutants” with microbiologic methods.
