★Jake Sully(杰克·萨利):a crippled ex-Marine. He is still a warrior at heart despite his broken body. He is recruited to Pandora to attend a scientific research project Avatar. As a result he is in a dilemma because he falls in love with Navi princess. At last the soul in his disabled human body successfully transfers into the Avatar’s body through the virgin Eva.

 ★Dr. Grace Augustine (格蕾丝·奥古斯汀博士): the chief scientist of the Avatar Project,an idealistic botanist. Her original intention is to associate with Navi peacefully by Avatar.To some extent, she acts as Jake Sully’s mother and teacher. In the process of escape from the base, because of the wound in her ontology (本体)she becomes weak. When she is planned to be transferred to her Avatar through Eva, the plan fails and she is dead, but the soul is with Eva.

★Parker Selfridge (帕克·塞弗里奇):the head of the Avatar Project in RDA Company. He is insidious, something like an unscrupulous real estate developer. Finally he is driven away by Navi.

★Colonel Miles Quaritch(迈尔斯·夸奇上校): the human security forces’ commander from earth onto Pandora, in charge of the security of RDA company base on Pandora. On his first day to Pandora he is attacked by animals on the planet, which left a scar on the face, so he is hostile toward the planet. In the final war, he almost kills Jake’s Avatar, but at the last minute he is shot dead by Neytiri.

★Norm Spellman (诺姆·斯贝尔曼): one of Avatar Project scientists, a biologist studying plants and natural ecology.In the final war, his Avatar is badly wounded by human guns and is dead, buthis human body is intact, and he is to live through the human body on Pandora.

★Trudy Chacon (楚迪·查肯): an ex-service lady-aviator, responsible for taking the scientists from the base to their remote Avatar lab. She has sympathy for Navi and later defects to (倒戈) Jake and Navi. She sacrifices her life in the final war between Navi and humans.

★Neytiri(妮特丽): Omaticaya(部落) princess of Navi, the future spiritual leader of Omaticaya. Jake’s bravery attracts her to fall in love with him. The role is created based both on the amazing computer animation technology and the indispensable heroine’s performance.

★Tsu’Tey (苏泰): Neytiri’s fiancé, the best soldier of Navi on Pandora, the successor to the sheikh(族长)in the future. At first he is bad-tempered and against Jake everywhere. But after Jake becomes the Phantom rider(魅影骑士),their relationship gets better. He is shot dead in the battle against human in the final war.

★Mo’At(姆亚): Neytiri’s mother,the sheikh’s wife, the spiritual leader of Omaticaya.

★Eytucan (埃图康): Neytiri’s father, the sheikh, the real leader of Omaticaya. He is killed by the human bomb in the war.
