Part I  Warming-up

  1. ask Ss to discuss the responsibilities of administrative assistant or secretary.

  2. Discuss some concepts related to meetings.

    ask Ss to finish the exercise in part B on p. 73.

  3. Learn some useful expressions.

  4. Invite Ss to give expressions without refering to textbooks.


  5. Part II. Write an agenda.

  6.     Teacher explains the format of an agenda and ask the Monitor to prepare a notice for a meeting. The rest students write an agenda based on the information given by the monitor.



  7. Part III. Role-play--Hold a meeting.

    Task: You are managers of a retail fashion chain called Space. You are holding your regular management meeting. Use the Managing Director's notes below as an agenda for your discussions. A different person should chair each item.
